You know, I knew for as long as it took me to get here all I needed was one shot on this stage. When I got it, I became the fastest rising star in the history of this game. And I did that despite not being anybody’s guy, not being in anybody’s plans. People talk about being undeniable — I lived it. I could not be ignored, and within one year here I am face-to-face with Roman Reigns for the WWE championship. As fast as that rise came, that match went exactly how you’d expect: I dropped Roman Reigns with a BFT, 1, 2… there’s Jimmy Uso to put his foot up on the rope. Saved by his family once again. “It took me three years to get back to this spot, held back by politics, held back by numbers, held back by people like Roman Reigns, yet, defiantly, still I stand here a challenger for that WWE world heavyweight championship. But you gotta understand something: YEAH is not a catchphrase, it’s a battle cry. I’m bulletproof. I’m the last of a dying breed. But at the same time I understand this is possibly my last shot at this, I get that. Well, Roman Reigns, if you’re ready to take the training wheels off and you wanna ride on your own, I commend that. I’m gonna knock you in the dirt real quick. “You think you no longer need your family and you can do this on your own but I know. I’ve never needed anybody to help me get ahead. I’m the most self made man in this game. I will rise. Because I must rise. So, Roman, the same way I made myself the man they call the Megastar, I’ll make myself the man you call world heavyweight champion.” He does well enough to mix the work with the shoot, or maybe it’s a worked shoot, or maybe we all just need to say goodnight jabroni marks without a life that don’t know it a work when you work a work and work yourself into a shoot, marks. Next week is the go home show to Money in the Bank, so perhaps Reigns will make a rare appearance to help promote the match and we won’t need to worry about all this backstage politics stuff.
