Lachie Ash claims first Kevin Sheedy Medal at Giants club awards

Greater Western Sydney defender Lachie Ash received the Kevin Sheedy Medal as the club champion on Thursday at Royal Randwick Racecourse. Ash earned 71 votes to finish ahead of Connor Idun with 69 votes and Clayton Oliver with 67 votes. This honor follows a productive 2026 campaign in which Ash appeared in all 23 games and secured his maiden All-Australian blazer. Marquee recruit Oliver earned the Members' Choice Award, while Harvey Thomas secured both the Rising Star and Coaches' Awards. Additionally, Aaron Cadman won Mark of the Year for a round 24 effort, and Jake Stringer took the Goal of the Year and leading goal kicker honors with 48 goals for the season. Stephen Coniglio was recognized with the club's Community Award for his work regarding local multicultural engagement.
