Lakers consider trade to add wing defenders for Luka Doncic

Summary

The Los Angeles Lakers are exploring a trade to acquire Derrick Jones Jr. and Kris Dunn, aiming to bolster their perimeter defense around Luka Doncic. This potential deal would involve sending Jarred Vanderbilt, Jaden Hardy, and Dalton Knecht to the LA Clippers, alongside multiple picks, including a first-round pick swap. The Lakers seek to improve their projected defense, which an NBA scout has rated among the league's weakest for the upcoming season. The Clippers, looking to rebuild, would gain expiring contracts and future draft assets through this transaction. Talks for this trade are ongoing as both teams evaluate their respective rosters.
