Lakers name Derrin Horton as new public address announcer

The Los Angeles Lakers announced the hiring of Derrin Horton as their new public address announcer on October 1. Horton will be responsible for announcing at Lakers' home games at Crypto.com Arena, starting with a preseason matchup against the Sacramento Kings on October 8. He takes over the role following the passing of longtime announcer Lawrence Tanter on September 23. Tanter had more than 43 seasons with the Lakers and was expected to transition to an advisory role before his death.
