Lakers preview Chris Cenac Jr. ahead of NBA draft workouts

Summary

Chris Cenac Jr., a 6-foot-11 big man from the University of Houston, had a pre-draft workout with the Los Angeles Lakers on June 16, 2026. The Lakers hold the No. 25 pick in the upcoming NBA draft and are exploring various prospects, including Cenac, who averaged 9.5 points and 7.9 rebounds last season. He is known for his size and mobility, particularly on defense, although his offensive game is limited. Cenac could potentially be selected in the middle of the first round if teams believe in his development potential. The Lakers are expected to make strategic decisions this offseason, aided by significant salary cap space and draft assets.
