Lakers propose three-team trade to acquire Jonathan Kuminga from Hawks

The Los Angeles Lakers are working on a potential trade to acquire forward Jonathan Kuminga from the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team deal also involving the Portland Trail Blazers. The proposed trade would involve Kuminga signing a four-year contract worth $64 million, including a player option for the final year. The Hawks would receive forwards Dalton Knecht and Shaedon Sharpe along with future draft picks. In return, the Trail Blazers would get Buddy Hield and Jarred Vanderbilt, plus first-round pick swaps in 2027 and 2032. Kuminga's hesitance to sign a long-term contract has been noted, as he seeks a deal that could allow him to hit free agency sooner with the potential for a higher annual salary.
