Lakers pursue trades for Dalton Knecht and Jarred Vanderbilt before season

The Los Angeles Lakers remain active in trade negotiations despite nearing the start of training camp. General manager Rob Pelinka is currently seeking to move Dalton Knecht and Jarred Vanderbilt to address a roster vacancy at the small forward position. The team identified a need for wing support after failing to acquire Jonathan Kuminga, who signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Because of existing salary cap limitations, the front office is focusing on trade packages to facilitate further roster changes. While no deal is imminent, the team continues to monitor the market for potential veteran additions. The current Lakers roster features a new core including Walker Kessler following an offseason overhaul.
