Lakers to unveil Jackson statue at Crypto.com Arena in April 2027

The Los Angeles Lakers have scheduled the unveiling of a new statue honoring Jackson for April 9, 2027. The ceremony will take place at Star Plaza outside Crypto.com Arena prior to the team's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Omri Amrany of Rotblatt Amrany Studio has been commissioned to design and create the monument. Once installed, Jackson will become the ninth individual associated with the Lakers franchise to be honored with a statue at the venue. He joins a list that currently includes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, Chick Hearn, Magic Johnson, Pat Riley, Jerry West, O'Neal, and Bryant. The addition expands the collection of tributes dedicated to influential figures in the organization's history.
