Lancaster softball falls short in Division I state championship

Lancaster softball lost 7-5 to Hilliard Bradley in the Division I state championship on June 4 at Akron's Firestone Stadium. The Gales trailed 4-0 before scoring five runs in the third inning to take a brief lead. However, the Jaguars tied the game in the fourth and scored two runs in the seventh to secure victory. This ending capped a historic season for Lancaster (24-8), which reached the state tournament for the second consecutive year and defeated the top-ranked team in the semifinals. Coach Allie Kinniard praised her senior class for their accomplishments and the legacy they leave behind.
