Lando Norris claims pole position as Lewis Hamilton starts fourth in Madrid

Lando Norris secured pole position for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix at the new street circuit in Madrid following a late-session lap. Lewis Hamilton, who initially held provisional pole during the final round of qualifying, ultimately qualified in fourth position. Hamilton attributed his performance drop during his final run to understeer and issues with tire temperatures after a challenging day that included a crash in final practice. Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen qualified second and third, respectively, ahead of Hamilton. Charles Leclerc finished the session fifth, while George Russell will start the race from the sixth position on the grid. Sunday's 57-lap event is scheduled to begin at 2pm BST.
