Landon DuPont commits to Michigan hockey over top competitors

Landon DuPont, a highly regarded prospect expected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2027 NHL Draft, has verbally committed to Michigan hockey. He chose Michigan over offers from Michigan State, Denver, and Minnesota. The 17-year-old has played the past two seasons with the Everett Silvertips in the WHL, recording 18 goals and 55 assists over 63 games. This commitment may enhance Michigan's pursuit of a national championship, as the team has not won since 1998 and reached the Frozen Four semifinals last April, losing in double overtime to Denver. The Wolverines finished the previous season with a record of 31-8-1 and are the reigning Big Ten Tournament champions.
