Landon Hairston wins National Player of the Year award

Arizona State outfielder Landon Hairston has been awarded the Division I National Player of the Year by Just Baseball, announced on June 10. Hairston led the nation with an impressive slugging percentage of.860 and broke the school's single-season home run record with 28. He also ranked highly in several other offensive categories, including total bases, runs scored, and RBIs. Hairston recently received the Big 12 Player of the Year honor and is a finalist for two additional prestigious awards, including the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy, with announcements expected later this month.
