Lane Kiffin consults other coaches regarding daughter’s boyfriend Whit Weeks

LSU football coach Lane Kiffin recently confirmed he performed background research on LSU linebacker Whit Weeks before his daughter, Landry Kiffin, began dating the player. Lane Kiffin reached out to former LSU head coach Brian Kelly and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart to verify the character of the linebacker. The relationship gained public attention during the 2025 college football season when the elder Kiffin coached the Mississippi Rebels against the LSU Tigers. While the pairing created potential complications during that season, Lane Kiffin stated he no longer views the relationship as a conflict of interest. Whit Weeks maintained that his professional relationship with his girlfriend's father remains strictly limited to football operations within the training facility. The linebacker noted that both parties keep their personal lives separate from their work responsibilities at the university.
