Lane Warner begins second year on the OHSAA Board of Directors

Elgin Local Schools superintendent Lane Warner returned to his position on the Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Directors during a meeting in Columbus on August 27. Warner is serving the second year of a three-year term as the Class A representative from the Central District. The organization, which oversees sports for approximately 400,000 student-athletes across 815 high schools, also distributed scholarship funds to recent graduates. Three Marion-area students, Mary Aurigemma, Wyatt Denney, and Eli Snyder, received $1,000 awards through the Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Program. Additionally, the OHSAA allocated $1,020,000 from its Athletic Enrichment Fund to member schools to assist with equipment, uniforms, and transportation costs. The board continues its governance of junior high and high school athletic programs throughout the 2026-27 school year.
