Laquon Treadwell secures spot on initial Indianapolis Colts 53-man roster

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Laquon Treadwell has earned a spot on the team's initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season. The accomplishment marks the first time in seven years that the veteran has survived the initial round of NFL roster cuts. A 2016 first-round pick, Treadwell spent the majority of the last several seasons transitioning between practice squads and active rosters. He joined the organization in 2024 and was eventually elevated to the active roster in November 2025, where he primarily contributed on special teams. After signing a new contract with the team in March, Treadwell secured one of six receiver positions on the current roster. He will enter the 2026 season on the active squad rather than starting the year on the practice squad for the first time since 2019.
