Lauren Parfitt signs the first professional contract for Glamorgan Women

Glamorgan Women captain Lauren Parfitt has signed the team's first professional contract as the club prepares for their entry into Tier 1 in 2027. Parfitt, who has led the side since 2025, will take a sabbatical from her position as a teacher to focus on her cricket career. The 32-year-old previously represented the Western Storm regional team and led the Glamorgan side to the League Two T20 Blast title earlier this summer. Glamorgan management intends to sign additional players from the current squad and Tier 1 professional teams to bolster the roster for their debut in the top flight. Meanwhile, the team continues its season with a One Day Cup semi-final match against Kent scheduled for September 13.
