Lazio has informed Porto they must improve their initial offer for full-back Nuno Tavares. The Portuguese player has been linked with a move back to his home country after struggling with injuries and seemingly losing favor with the Lazio management. Tavares deleted references to Lazio from his social media, indicating a desire for a fresh start. Porto's offer of a loan for €2 million, with an option to buy, did not meet Lazio's expectations for a permanent transfer arrangement. Tavares remains under contract with Lazio until June 2029.
- •Lazio is open to selling Nuno Tavares amid contract tensions.
- •Porto's offer includes a loan with a purchase option that Lazio rejected.
- •Tavares has had injury issues, limiting his pre-season participation.
- •The player signs his social media posts suggesting a move is imminent.
