LeBron James signs with 76ers for 24th NBA season

Summary

LeBron James has signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, gearing up for his 24th NBA season starting in October. The forward joins stars Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, and Tyrese Maxey in Philadelphia. Former Golden State Warriors executive Bob Myers stated that by choosing the 76ers, James is taking the hardest path to championship contention, as he opted against more familiar franchises like the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat. As teams prepare to face the revamped 76ers, New York Knicks forward Josh Hart mentioned that James adds complexity to Philadelphia’s strategy. The Knicks and 76ers will face each other four times during the upcoming season, with their first meeting set for October 20.
