Lee Westwood plans to assess his participation in LIV Golf following the league's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing this week. The organization, which debuted in 2022, entered the legal process to preserve its business as a going concern after Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund withdrew financial backing in April. A new investor, BC Partners, has been secured to support a planned relaunch referred to as LIV 2.0 in early 2027. The Public Investment Fund committed $49.6 million to maintain operations during the transition. While acknowledging that bankruptcy is generally negative, Westwood remains open to continuing with the tour if it maintains a format featuring a team aspect and approximately 10 tournaments annually. The veteran golfer said he intends to evaluate the structure of the reorganized tour before making a final decision on his playing future.
