L’Équipe journalist steps aside amidst controversy regarding Jérémy Doku

Summary

France Pierron, a journalist for L’Équipe, will temporarily step away from her role presenting the L’Équipe de Choc show until the end of the season on July 3. This decision follows her controversial remarks on Jérémy Doku's departure from Belgium’s FIFA World Cup camp to attend the birth of his child, which she described as 'disgusting.' L’Équipe distanced itself from her comments, while Pierron is expected to have an HR meeting with her employers at the end of the month. Despite the backlash and harassment she faced online, her position at L’Équipe is not perceived to be in jeopardy.
