Letsile Tebogo returns to Budapest for inaugural Ultimate Championships

Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo returns to Budapest next week to compete in the inaugural Ultimate Championships. The event, scheduled for September 11-13 at the Gyula Zsivotzky National Athletics Centre, features a record $10m prize purse for the sport. Tebogo achieved his international breakthrough in Budapest during the 2023 World Championships, where he became the first African male to win a 100m medal. The sprinter will compete in the 200m while also serving as a team captain for the Kids' Athletics Ultimate Challenge. This marks his first return to the Hungarian capital since the death of his mother, Seratiwa, who supported him during his initial success there. Tebogo enters the event following a 2024 season that saw him become the first Olympic gold medallist from Botswana.
