Lexy Halladay defends steeplechase title at U.S. championships

Lexy Halladay defended her title in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the U.S. track and field championships in New York on July 25, 2026. Halladay finished with a time of 9:12.54, five seconds ahead of runner-up Gabbi Jennings, who clocked 9:17.42. Courtney Wayment, another former BYU athlete, finished fifth with 9:19.90. Kenneth Rooks, a former NCAA champion, did not qualify for the final after failing to advance. Other results included Nathan Green winning the 1,500-meter race and Carter Cutting finishing 12th in that event.
