Liam Delap finished his debut season at Chelsea with just two goals in 41 appearances, suffering a 26-game goal drought. Joining from Manchester City amidst a £30m release clause last season, Delap faced injuries and competition from Joao Pedro, who excelled with 20 goals. Despite a challenging year, Delap is committed to proving his worth and hopes for a greater role under incoming manager Xabi Alonso. Chelsea's lack of European competition complicates squad management and Delap's future.
- •Delap scored only one Premier League goal in his first season at Chelsea.
- •Injuries hindered Delap's contributions, including a hamstring tear and shoulder dislocation.
- •Joao Pedro has become the first-choice forward, limiting Delap's playing time.
- •Delap aims to secure more opportunities next season under Xabi Alonso.
- •Chelsea's failure to qualify for Europe affects squad size and player rotation.
