Liam Laffin commits to Vanderbilt baseball for 2028 season

Lyman Hall pitcher Liam Laffin has announced his commitment to Vanderbilt University for baseball, set to begin in the fall of 2028. Laffin, a two-time CIAC Class L champion, reached a fastball velocity of 92 mph at a Vanderbilt recruiting camp. He cited the need to improve his skills in the coming years to compete in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Laffin's performance drew attention from several programs, but ultimately led to the decision to join the storied Vanderbilt program, which has successfully developed players from Connecticut. He aims to further develop his pitching repertoire before starting at the collegiate level.
