Ligue 1's notable World Cup absentees include Chevalier and Morton
Summary

As the 2026 World Cup approaches, 79 Ligue 1 players have been selected by their national teams. However, several prominent players have been left out, including Lucas Chevalier of PSG and Tyler Morton of Lyon. Chevalier's lack of playing time significantly influenced his omission, as he has not appeared in a match since January. Similarly, Morton established himself at Lyon but was not chosen for the England squad. Malang Sarr and Corentin Tolisso are among others who also missed the cut despite strong seasons. The tournament is set to kick off soon, highlighting the competitiveness of national team selections.
