Lilia Vu exits Solheim Cup as U.S. team alternate for wedding

Lilia Vu will depart the 2026 Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands to attend a friend's wedding. As the designated alternate for the U.S. team, Vu traveled with the squad but was restricted to practice sessions and did not compete in the event. She currently faces a slump on the LPGA Tour, having missed the cut in her last 10 individual starts. U.S. captain Angela Stanford finalized her 12-person roster ahead of the opening ceremony, choosing to include Angel Yin despite recent fitness concerns. Yin rejoined the tour following a two-month recovery from stomach issues and sought extra reps on the course to prepare. Vu, a former world No. 1 who clinched the cup for the U.S. in 2024, is scheduled to fly back to the United States on Friday to attend the wedding of former teammate Erin Choi.
