Although there is a possibility he could return earlier, personal circumstances may keep him longer, as he is expected to attend to his father’s health issues. If he adheres to the 21-day rest period recommended by FIFA, he could be back for Inter Miami's match against Leon in the Leagues Cup on August 12. Messi concluded the World Cup as a runner-up, scoring eight goals in eight matches.
