Lions seek return to form from Jared Goff in 2026 season

The Detroit Lions are looking for quarterback Jared Goff to regain his 2024 form as they head into the 2026 NFL season. After a decline to a 9-8 record and missing the playoffs in 2025, the Lions have promoted Drew Petzing to offensive coordinator. Goff's performance dropped significantly last season, posting his lowest QBR since joining the Lions. With a schedule projected to be the sixth easiest in the league, the Lions hope Goff can capitalize on the return of key offensive weapons like Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown. The team also plans to shift Penei Sewell from right tackle to left tackle to improve the blocking for Goff.
