Lions sign linebacker Joe Bachie to the active roster

The Detroit Lions signed linebacker Joe Bachie from their practice squad on Monday, September 7. The move fills one of two roster vacancies created after the team waived center Seth McLaughlin and running back Jabari Small last week. Both McLaughlin and Small have been re-signed to the practice squad, while offensive lineman Mason Miller was placed on the practice squad injured list. Bachie, who previously played for the New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans, and Indianapolis Colts, provides additional depth at the position. Head coach Dan Campbell noted Bachie’s versatility and reliability on special teams. He is expected to contribute early in the season while rookie linebacker Jimmy Rolder recovers from a hamstring injury. The Lions currently retain one open spot on their 53-man roster.
