Lisa Baum scores on debut as Arsenal women beat Brighton

Arsenal began their FA WSL campaign with a 1-0 victory over Brighton on Saturday. Teenage forward Lisa Baum scored the decisive goal in the ninth minute of her competitive debut after dribbling through the midfield and finishing into the corner. Despite controlling over 70 percent of possession, Arsenal failed to extend the lead despite several chances for Alessia Russo. Brighton goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie made several saves, while Arsenal goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez was forced into action early to deny Kiko Seike. The win follows opening weekend action that saw London City Lionesses defeat Manchester United and Chelsea draw with Aston Villa.
