Liverpool secured a comeback victory against Brentford in the Premier League on October 17, scoring twice in the second half after trailing at halftime. Florian Wirtz was pivotal in this win, creating nine chances, the highest recorded by any player in a single league game in six years. The match was marked by Brentford's red card before halftime, which Liverpool exploited to dominate the second half with 21 total attempts on goal. However, Liverpool's ongoing defensive vulnerabilities raised concerns, particularly regarding their midfield setup with Wirtz. The win lifted Liverpool to fifth place in the league under manager Andoni Iraola, who faced injuries to Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong during the match.
