Liverpool eyes Said El Mala from Cologne amidst Premier League interest

Liverpool has joined the competition to sign Said El Mala from Cologne, following the teenager's impressive debut Bundesliga season where he scored 13 goals and provided five assists. Previously, Brighton was leading in the pursuit, but Cologne's valuation of €50 million has stalled progress. After rejecting a move to Brentford, other European clubs have emerged. Borussia Dortmund is reportedly considering a €35 million offer plus loans, but Cologne is maintaining their valuation. Liverpool is interested in El Mala as a backup option in case their chase for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande does not materialize. Currently, El Mala has returned from vacation and begun fitness training without any ongoing negotiations.
