Liverpool finalizes signing of defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes

Liverpool has completed the permanent signing of defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for an initial £55 million. The deal, agreed upon in January, includes a five-year contract with an option for an additional year. Jacquet's transfer solidifies Liverpool's defensive line following the departure of Ibrahima Konate to Real Madrid. The 20-year-old was sidelined with a shoulder injury but is expected to be fit for pre-season. Liverpool now has four center-backs on the roster, including Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, and Giovanni Leoni, who is currently recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.
