Liverpool finalized a strategic agreement to sign teenage striker Djylian N’Guessan despite restrictions on international loan allocations. Due to existing limits, the club cannot sign the player directly before sending him out on loan. Instead, N’Guessan will play the 2026/27 campaign at Brest on loan from Saint-Étienne, with a pre-contract agreement set to be signed in January. The striker will officially join the Premier League side next summer following the expiration of his contract with Saint-Étienne. This move follows a broader youth recruitment drive that saw the team add Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Mor Talla Ndiaye, Samuel Martinez, and Lucca Brughmans to their academy ranks. While Liverpool pursued senior attacking targets throughout the summer, the club stopped further activity after rejecting a bid for Cody Gakpo and failing to reach agreements for Yankuba Minteh, Ismaila Sarr, and Ibrahim Mbaye.
