Liverpool struggles with Florian Wirtz under static attacking style

Summary

Liverpool continues to face challenges with Florian Wirtz, who was signed for over £100m in 2025. Despite his reputation as one of the Bundesliga's top players, Wirtz has not found form at Anfield, struggling to replicate his previous success. He is currently deployed in a static 4-2-3-1 system that contrasts with the fluid attacking style he thrived in at Bayer Leverkusen. With Liverpool's ongoing struggles, questions arise about the compatibility of Wirtz's skill set with the team's tactical approach under Andoni Iraola.
