Liverpool withdraws from Mateus Fernandes transfer pursuit amid United interest

Summary

Liverpool has exited the competition to sign Mateus Fernandes, who is heavily linked with Manchester United. Sources suggest that the increased interest from United has driven up Fernandes' asking price, leading Liverpool to abandon their pursuit. West Ham is seeking a bidding war to maximize the transfer fee, estimated at £80 million. Meanwhile, United is in discussions with West Ham and Fernandes' agent, Jorge Mendes, in hopes of reaching a more favorable agreement.
