Lobos secure first at Nuttycombe Invitational with dominant performance

College SportsThe University of New Mexico men's cross-country team won the Nuttycombe Invitational on October 7 in Madison, Wisconsin, scoring 59 points to lead 39 ranked teams. UNM's scoring five finished within the top 25, successfully defending their title from the previous year. Freshman Pasanjo Kitongo finished second overall, just behind individual winner Meshack Kipruto from Colorado. The women's team took fourth place, missing key runner Marion Jepgnetich and facing challenges, including Pamela Kosgei's shoe issue during the race. After a break, the Lobos will compete at the Mountain West Championships on October 30 in Reno, Nevada.
