Local media criticizes Manuel Ugarte's World Cup performance for Man United

Summary

Manuel Ugarte has faced significant criticism from Uruguayan media following his underwhelming performances in the World Cup. Despite being expected to excel under coach Marcelo Bielsa, Ugarte struggled against teams like Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde, prompting calls for his early substitution in those matches. His lack of precision in possession against physical opponents has raised doubts about his suitability for Manchester United's needs. Reports indicate United may consider offloading Ugarte for a £25 million offer, as local observers highlighted his poor displays throughout the tournament. A change in environment may benefit Ugarte's development as a player.
