Long jumper Tara Davis-Woodhall sustains concussion in head-on car accident

Olympic long jump champion Tara Davis-Woodhall sustained a severe concussion following a head-on vehicle collision that occurred in a parking lot last week. The athlete confirmed the incident while speaking to media to promote the upcoming World Athletics Ultimate Championship. Although she reported no life-threatening injuries, she expressed uncertainty regarding her condition and has not trained since the accident. Davis-Woodhall is currently undecided about her participation in the event scheduled for September 11-13 in Budapest. She described the collision as a 20 mile-per-hour impact that occurred while she was arriving for a practice session. The long jumper noted that she is taking her recovery one day at a time while evaluating her readiness for competition.
