Longtime RiverDogs public address announcer Ken Carrington announces his retirement

Ken Carrington is stepping down as the public address announcer for the RiverDogs after more than two decades with the club. Since joining the organization in 2002, Carrington has called over 1,700 games at The Joe in Charleston, South Carolina. Known for a unique, roving style of announcing that involves interacting directly with fans throughout the ballpark, he became a fixture for the team. During his tenure, he provided the voice for games featuring players such as Alex Rodriguez and Tim Tebow during their respective stints with the organization. Carrington plans to move on from his role to dedicate more time to his work with the Presbyterian church. RiverDogs President and General Manager Dave Echols noted the void his departure leaves within the organization.
