Los Angeles Lakers honor Phil Jackson with statue at Crypto.com Arena

The Los Angeles Lakers will honor Phil Jackson with a bronze statue outside Crypto.com Arena. The unveiling event for the former head coach is scheduled for April 9, 2027. Jackson led the franchise to five NBA championships and reached seven NBA Finals during his two tenures with the team. Lakers Governor Jeanie Buss stated that the statue recognizes Jackson’s impact on the organization’s championship legacy. Jackson holds the record for the most NBA coaching titles with 11 championships, including six won with the Chicago Bulls. The new monument will join existing tributes to other franchise figures, including Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and Magic Johnson.
