Los Angeles Rams activate Aaron Donald from exempt list

The Los Angeles Rams have removed defensive lineman Aaron Donald from the Commissioner’s Exempt List following the expiration of his two-game roster exemption. The move makes the 35-year-old eligible to return to the active roster for the team’s upcoming game against the New York Giants on September 21. Donald ended a two-year retirement this offseason and signed a one-year, $20 million contract with the organization. His return follows a 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the season opener, during which the Los Angeles defense failed to record a sack. Head coach Sean McVay opted to keep Donald sidelined for the debut game to allow for further physical conditioning. The team has not yet confirmed if he will play against the New York Giants.
