Kate Martin of the Los Angeles Sparks was ruled out due to a knee strain during a recent game against the Minnesota Lynx on June 19. In seven minutes of play, she collected one rebound and attempted three shots before exiting the match. Sparks coach Lynne Roberts stated that Martin is day-to-day but returning to practice in non-contact gear. She could be activated for the Sparks' upcoming game against the New York Liberty. Martin has been activated for ten of the Sparks' fifteen games this season under her Player Development Contract, allowing up to twelve activations before a contract decision is needed.
