Lou Trivino becomes free agent after being designated by Phillies

Summary

The Philadelphia Phillies designated pitcher Lou Trivino for assignment on Monday, prompting him to become a free agent two days after the trade deadline. This decision came after the team's acquisitions of Luis Arraez, Caleb Kilian, and Brooks Raley, creating a roster crunch. Trivino was activated from the injured list shortly before the designation, having pitched well in his recent rehabilitation. He had a challenging season overall, allowing 10 earned runs in six major league innings. Trivino, a veteran with prior success in the league, will now seek a new opportunity.
