Louey Ben Farhat shifts international allegiance from Tunisia to Germany

Freiburg attacker Louey Ben Farhat has officially opted to represent Germany instead of Tunisia at the international level. The 20-year-old, born in Waiblingen, recently declined a position in the Tunisia World Cup squad. He cited a heavy match workload following a recent injury absence as a primary factor in his decision. Ben Farhat is now expected to receive a call-up to the Germany U21 national team this September. The forward joined Freiburg from 2. Bundesliga side Karlsruher SC this summer for a reported €7.5 million transfer fee. He is currently playing on loan at Karlsruher SC for the remainder of the season.
