Louisiana Tech sets school scoring record in win over Northwestern State

Louisiana Tech recorded an 80-6 victory over Northwestern State in their season opener on September 5, 2026. The Bulldogs established new school records for both total points and margin of victory in the contest at Joe Aillet Stadium. Despite trailing 3-0 early after a Northwestern State field goal, Louisiana Tech responded with ten consecutive touchdown drives. The offense was complemented by a 58-yard punt return for a touchdown by Dedrick Latulas. The Bulldogs held the FCS opponent to 129 total yards, the fewest allowed by the program since 2009. Northwestern State managed only two field goals, while ten of its drives ended in three-and-out punts.
