LSU celebrates life of Skip Bertman at evening memorial service

LSU will honor legendary baseball coach and athletics director Skip Bertman with a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The event, free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. CT, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Seating in the upper bowl will be general admission, while the lower bowl is reserved for family guests. Attendees are encouraged to bring sealed water bottles as concessions will not be available. Bertman, who passed away at age 88, guided LSU to five NCAA Championships and 11 College World Series appearances from 1984 to 2001. The event will be broadcast live on various platforms including SEC Network and ESPN+. Donations in Bertman's honor can be made to select organizations he supported.
