LSU soccer secures dominant home opening win against Northwestern State

The #16 LSU women’s soccer team earned their first victory of the 2026-27 season with a decisive 5-0 win over Northwestern State on August 17. Despite a challenging first half where LSU outshot NSU 10-1 without scoring, the team exploded offensively in the second half. Goals from Ava Galligan, Allie Fryer, Linka Ono, and Ryann Denecour, along with Mia Conard, highlighted the dominant performance. LSU overwhelmed NSU with a final tally of 24 shots compared to NSU's 3, resulting in the Tigers improving to 1-1-0 for the season. LSU will host UCF for their next match on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
