LSU Tigers miss on four-star safety Davion Jones in 2027 recruiting class

The LSU Tigers did not secure four-star safety Davion Jones, who has committed to South Carolina for the 2027 recruiting class. Jones, regarded as a top-140 recruit and the No. 9 safety in the country, chose South Carolina after taking four visits to the school, compared to just one visit to LSU. His decision was influenced by the geographical advantage of South Carolina's proximity to his home in North Carolina. Despite this setback, LSU has strengthened its recruiting class by flipping Greedy James from Texas, positioning them well for the upcoming seasons. Currently, LSU's class ranks 11th nationally and fifth in the SEC, with 15 total commitments including a five-star and 10 four-stars.
