Lucas Beaty scores on defense and offense for Normal Community

Normal Community senior Lucas Beaty had a standout performance last Friday against Champaign Central. He achieved a strip sack and recovered the ball for a touchdown while playing defense. Shortly after, Beaty, who also plays quarterback, ran in a two-point conversion, showcasing his dual-threat capability. This marks the fifth consecutive year a Beaty has served as the starting QB for the Ironmen, and he has taken over the role from his older brother Kyle, who is now with Illinois Wesleyan. Normal Community, currently with a 5-0 record, will next face Peoria High on Friday.
